While the first ever Week 18 of the NFL season provided for some fantastic drama and an extra week of football for us fans, it also must be questioned whether or not the extra week of football was worth it to the players actually doing the work on the field.

Last week, it was announced that the Arizona Coyotes were facing a lockout of their own arena by the local city government in Glendale, Arizona for not paying their bills to the city.
It has become official that the NHL and the NHLPA have agreed not to go to China for the Winter Olympics. All over the internet, you’ll find an explanation of reasons as to why the players aren’t going. But here’s the bigger question: What does this mean for hockey at the Olympics going forward?
Next time that you think that it’s crazy how young kids are when they start to be treated as athletic commodities, remember that this is not limited to just AAU or America... It's Global.
Remember, even top-level pro athletes have had lingering effects of covid even after they’ve beaten it, especially in terms of endurance. Don’t get mad at yourself. The most important part of being an athlete is your mindset, not the numbers you put up on any given day. Especially on a day just after your badass body has beaten a plague.
It hasn't always been a societal norm to show restraint when interpreting the actions of people with a history of abhorrent behavior which allows us to easily jump to conclusions. We're starting to see compassion and empathy for the mental state that almost undoubtedly is a contributing factor.
If this one-year experiment gets adopted, will more and more coaches have one eye on another job and one foot out the door before the regular season ends?
